For the longest time, I thought I was put on this earth to sing. Now, I think there is a different plan in store for me. Photography. I'm a single mother who has said goodbye to the corporate office world and I live my life as a freelance artist. I've spent most of my life in finance as some sort of an office punk or as a caregiver for mentally disabled adults, meanwhile being a singer and a mother with a love for painting, drawing and cooking. I picked up a cheap digital camera a couple of years ago and accidentally discovered my gift. I had spent a lot of time counting numbers when I wanted to sing. I spent a lot of time singing backup when I wanted to be the lead. I can talk a lot and make people laugh but I can never get the words on paper. I could move mountains with my passion but could never express it with my own melody. Then one day, the camera became my instrument, my canvas. The lens was my microphone, my brush. The photo is my melody, my painting. This isn't just taking pictures. This is my art. This is what I wanted to be, I just never knew. It was only recently that I was able to afford a quality camera and in turn, decided to run fast from the corporate world and delve into the professional side of photography. I realize that life is much sweeter when you get paid to do something you truly enjoy. Besides, I'm a better person because of it. Please... support a starving artist! I have a creative and abstract view of the world with an eye for flavor. I love portraiture, live performance and experimenting with different lighting. I'm self taught and learn as I go. I like shooting both on location and in studio just as long as some thought has been put to the location. My technique is very simple. I like to use life's subtleties to capture photographs. Sometimes I use natural lighting, sometimes flash, a reflector, sometimes a bright bulb. It's nothing special or flashy. Just let my work speak for itself. I am available for hire for just about any photographing needs. Please contact me for a job quote here.
